Abstract:

The current research was conducted with the aim of the effect of ATTACHMENT style on emotion regulation with the mediating role of identity style. The research method was descriptive and structural equation analysis. The statistical population of the research was all second year high school STUDENTs of Kashan city in the academic year of 1400-1401, of which 500 people were selected by random cluster method. Data were collected based on three questionnaires: Gross & Jan (2003) Emotional Regulation Inventory, Identity Style Scale (6G-ISI) and Collins and Reid (1990) ATTACHMENT Style Questionnaire. The data are obtained by structural equation modeling and using Laserl 8.8 and 26 spss software. analyzed. Based on the results, SECURE ATTACHMENT style at a significance level of 0.01, AVOIDANT ATTACHMENT style at a significance level of 0.05, and ambivalent ATTACHMENT style at a significance level of 0.01 directly predicted emotion regulation. Among the three ATTACHMENTs, SECURE ATTACHMENT style predicted emotion regulation at a significant level of 0.01, with the mediation of identity styles. Informational identity style at a significance level of 0.01, confused identity style at a significance level of 0.05 directly predicted emotion regulation. Among the three ATTACHMENTs, only the SECURE ATTACHMENT style at a significance level of 0.01 had a significant role in predicting the normative identity style. According to the results of this study, emotion regulation is one of the most important constructs of educational psychology and an important factor in determining mental health and successful performance. It is in education that the factors affecting emotion regulation and its antecedents should be identified. Planning for training and holding educational workshops in this field in schools is suggested for STUDENTs.

Abstract:

MARITAL satisfaction and, elated concepts are studied more then any other concepts in psychology. This research was also designed for evaluating the relationship between ATTACHMENT styles and MARITAL satisfaction. The main purpose was finding one of effective factors on MARITAL satisfaction to reduce the rate of divorce. One hundred male and female married STUDENTs and their spouses from Āzād University responded to Hazan and Shaver's ATTACHMENT style and Olson's ENRICH inventories. Results revealed that between ANXIOUS-AMBIVALENT ATTACHMENT styles and MARITAL satisfaction was negatively correlated, whereas the correlation between SECURE ATTACHMENT and AVOIDANT ATTACHMENT were not found correlated. These results confirmed the necessity of psychological interventions before and throughout the MARITAL life.

Abstract:

This study examined the relationship between the ATTACHMENT styles and MARITAL satisfaction. 159 (81 females & 78 males) randomly selected high-school and junior high-school teachers, all married and resided in the city of Taybad, Iran, completed the Relationship Adult ATTACHMENT Scale (Collins & Read, 1990), the ATTACHMENT to Mother Questionnaire (Raja-ei et al., 2006), and the Enriching and Nurturing Relationship Issues, Communication and Happiness questionnaire (Olson et al., 1987; Revised by Soleimanian, 1994). Data showed significant a positive correlation between MARITAL satisfaction and SECURE ATTACHMENT style (r = 0.53), but negative correlations with AVOIDANT (r = -0.28) and ambivalent (r = -0.38) ATTACHMENT styles. Adult ATTACHMENT styles explained 52% and ATTACHMENT to mother styles accounted for 29% of the variance in MARITAL satisfaction. Males and females were not significantly different in terms of level of MARITAL satisfaction.

Abstract:

ATTACHMENT style is one of the effective factors in interpersonal interactions, which is formed as a result of a person's relationships with ATTACHMENT figures (parents, peers, and spouse) and significantly affects the performance and MARITAL relationship. Therefore, the present study aimed to investigate the relationship between SECURE, AVOIDANT and ambivalent ATTACHMENT style with MARITAL adjustment in married STUDENTs. The research method was applied in terms of purpose and descriptive-correlation in terms of data collection. The statistical population included all married STUDENTs of all levels of Azad University, Tehran branch in 2016, of which 184 people were considered as the sample size using Cochran's formula and available sampling method. Data collection was based on four standard questionnaires of MARITAL adjustment (Locke-Wallace, 1959) and ATTACHMENT styles (Hazen and Shaver, 1987). Analysis of the information obtained from the implementation of questionnaires was done through SPSS20 software in two descriptive and inferential sections (Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression). The results of the research showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between SECURE ATTACHMENT style and MARITAL adjustment of STUDENTs. There is a negative and significant relationship between AVOIDANT ATTACHMENT style and MARITAL adjustment of STUDENTs. Also, there is a negative and significant relationship between ambivalent ATTACHMENT style and MARITAL adjustment of STUDENTs. Therefore, it can be concluded that with pre-marriage counseling and determining their ATTACHMENT style and MARITAL compatibility, it is possible to predict and if necessary, provide the necessary training to achieve more satisfaction and compatibility in life.

Abstract:

Background: MARITAL satisfaction is one of the deepest and the most basic human pleasures and should be established within the family environment; if not, couples might suffer emotionally. Several factors are involved, including ATTACHMENT and lifestyle. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between styles of ATTACHMENT and lifestyle with MARITAL satisfaction.Materials and Methods: The population in this study included all of the Bandar Abbas oil refining (BAOR) company employees, for a total of 292 people (146 couples). They were selected by multistage random sampling. The enrich MARITAL satisfaction scale was used to measure MARITAL satisfaction, the Collins and read’s revised adult ATTACHMENT scale (RAAS) for adult ATTACHMENT to determine ATTACHMENT style, and the life style questionnaire (LSQ) for lifestyle. This research was a descriptive-correlative one, and for the data analysis, we used Pearson’s correlation factor and multivariable regression. Results: The results indicate that ATTACHMENT style and lifestyle factors can predict MARITAL satisfaction. There was also a meaningful negative relationship between inSECURE ATTACHMENT AVOIDANT and inSECURE ATTACHMENT ANXIOUS-AMBIVALENT styles and MARITAL satisfaction. However, there was no meaningful relationship between SECURE ATTACHMENT style and MARITAL satisfaction. Conclusions: The results showed that the early relationship within the family environment supports a certain ATTACHMENT style and the effects of the AVOIDANT inSECURE and ambivalent inSECURE styles affect the interpersonal relations of the couples in adulthood. The effect of ATTACHMENT styles on interpersonal relations is far greater than that of lifestyle.

Abstract:

The present was carried out to study the relationship among Emotional regulation, ATTACHMENT Styles and MARITAL Satisfaction in Tehran Secondary teachers. It was correlation research based on data gathering and applied research based on objective. Participants in this research were all secondary school teachers from all of Tehran education sectors with gender segregation.140 teachers (N=140) were randomly selected from a larger community (14 secondary schools from 5 education sectors); and the sample for the current study was multi clusters sampling method. The instruments were Simpson’s (1999) 3 dimensions ATTACHMENT styles scale, Groutze and Rumer’s (1992) emotional regulation scale and Enricht’s (1989) MARITAL satisfaction scale. The gathered data were analyzed using Pearson’s correlation coefficients and multivariable regression tests. The results indicated that there was significant relationship among 3 variables (Emotional regulation, ATTACHMENT styles and MARITAL satisfaction). There were negative significant (a=0.05) relationships between ATTACHMENT styles, poor emotional regulation, and MARITAL satisfaction. Also it was demonstrated that there were positive significant (a=0.05) relationship between SECURE ATTACHMENT style and MARITAL satisfaction and inversely there was negative significant (a=0.05) relationship between inSECURE ATTACHMENT style and MARITAL satisfaction in both of the two groups. Based on the research outputs, it can be said that SECURE ATTACHMENT style and emotional regulation skills could make and develop MARITAL satisfaction relation in teachers.

Abstract:

Background & Aims: Self-injurious behaviors as a part of rebellion in adolescence can affect mental disorders in adulthood and cause significant clinical distress, interpersonal and academic dysfunction (1). Studies have shown that 87% of teenagers involved in self-injurious behaviors had a psychiatric disorder (2). Most teenagers have not disclosed their self-injurious behavior due to fear of negative reactions from others (3). According to the conducted researches, inSECURE ATTACHMENT is mentioned as one of the underlying factors of self-injurious behaviors, so that 52% of patients with inSECURE ATTACHMENT style were more exposed to self-injurious behaviors, which causes helplessness and inability to solve interpersonal conflicts (9). Research results indicate a positive relationship between ambivalent and AVOIDANT ATTACHMENT styles and self-injurious behaviors (10, 11). People with an inSECURE ATTACHMENT style who suffer from self-criticism are prone to more damage when participating in social networks because they constantly compare themselves with others, and this comparison increases their insecurity and has a negative effect on their mental health (12). Among the therapeutic methods that deal with disturbing childhood experiences and transformational roots in a wide and wide way, we can mention schema therapy (17). By targeting underlying problems and awareness of emotional needs, schema therapy tries to learn healthy solutions and adapt to them through emotional, cognitive and behavioral techniques. Schemotherapy can correct the negative representations of the person's past towards important people in current relationships through open-ended parenting and empathic confrontation (18). Also, when patients show self-injurious behaviors, dialectical behavior therapy skills can be used (19). Dialectical behavior therapy is an evidence-based treatment method that has a significant effect in reducing self-injurious behaviors, and this is done by facilitating the acceptance of emotional responses, which is a useful therapeutic goal in reducing self-injurious behaviors (20). Due to the 10% prevalence of self-harm behaviors in the world population, it has been neglected and marginalized. No treatment has been found to be clearly superior to other treatments in reducing self-injurious behaviors, and more research is needed in this field. Therefore, the current research seeks to answer this question, is the combination of dialectical behavior therapy and schema therapy effective on self-injurious and ATTACHMENT behaviors? Methods: This research was conducted using a single-case experimental design based on a multiple baseline design using a stair-step method in Tehran. Three participants were selected by purposeful sampling and based on the entry criteria. Then, in three baseline stages, five intervention stages and three follow-up periods, they filled in Collins and Reed's ATTACHMENT style questionnaire, Young schema therapy and Sanson's list of self-injurious behaviors and received individual therapy during 28 sessions. Data analysis was done using the visual analysis method, and in order to determine the clinical significance, the percentage of recovery and the effect size were used. Results: The results showed that the combined treatment of dialectical behavior therapy and schema therapy was effective in increasing SECURE ATTACHMENT, reducing AVOIDANT and ambivalent ATTACHMENT, and reducing self-injurious behaviors. The total recovery rate of the subjects in SECURE ATTACHMENT was between 25% and 49% and in the reduction of self-injurious behaviors, it was more than 50%. Conclusion: The results of the present study showed that the combined treatment of dialectical behavior therapy and schema therapy was effective in increasing SECURE ATTACHMENT, reducing AVOIDANT and ambivalent ATTACHMENT. The results are consistent with the researches of Faskhudi et al. (2016), Alizadeh et al. (2014) and Tabbakuchian et al. (2016). In the explanation of the present research, it can be said that schema therapy leads to a feeling of safety in the person, that the person shows a safer ATTACHMENT style in his relationships and feels that there is someone who understands his feelings, pays attention to him and is available. Yes, there is a safe support and he can easily tell his needs and express himself without anxiety (31). In addition to this, dialectical behavior in all stages tries to show the different poles of an action to people and clients, how an emotion, thought or behavior can lead to the improvement of a process or its destruction. Other findings of the research indicate a decrease in AVOIDANT ATTACHMENT of clients. dialectical behavior therapy,Naming examines emotion recognition and conscious attention to emotions without judgment and is the goal of treatment,Therefore, it seems that the effective treatment process in the first and second references was done in this way. Other findings of the research showed that the ambivalent ATTACHMENT style had little improvement in the first clients and treatment failure in the second and third clients. From the research inconsistent with the present research regarding the effectiveness of schema therapy on reducing the ambivalent ATTACHMENT style, we can refer to the research of Danai Sage (34) and Uraki (35) and in line with the current research regarding the ineffectiveness of schema therapy on reducing the ambivalent ATTACHMENT style, we can refer to Amani's research pointed out (36). In schema therapy, by using open and borderline parenting techniques, an attempt has been made to change inSECURE ATTACHMENT to SECURE ATTACHMENT and adjust incompatible schemas, and it seems that the treatment effect in the first subject was done in this way. The results showed that the combined treatment of dialectical behavior therapy and schema therapy was effective in reducing self-injurious behaviors. The results are consistent with the research of Paclio et al. (37) and Mok (38). Hilden et al. (39). Dialectical behavior therapy is based on biosocial theory, which considers the inability to regulate emotions as an effective factor in self-injurious behaviors, which, by eliminating self-injurious behaviors, training more adaptive coping skills, helps to reduce emotional dysregulation and self-injurious behaviors in people. In addition, schema therapy has been used to resolve childhood traumatic events through cognitive and experimental techniques. Because in skematherapy, with the aim of establishing underlying problems and awareness of emotional needs, it provides the patient with healthier and more adaptive solutions through borderline and empathetic coping techniques and leads to the reduction of self-injurious behaviors. In the current research, it is necessary to point out limitations such as: the spread of the corona disease, the lack of necessary therapeutic communication when performing experimental techniques due to the use of masks, due to compliance with the health protocol. It can be concluded that the combined treatment of dialectical behavior therapy and schema therapy has been effective in increasing SECURE ATTACHMENT, reducing AVOIDANT and ambivalent ATTACHMENT, and reducing self-injurious behaviors. Therefore, it is suggested that the current research be used in the preventive educational format for teenagers in order to improve interpersonal relationships and increase social security and promote mental health.

Abstract:

Background: The early relationships between infant and care takers are significant and the emotional interactions of these relationships play an important role in forming personality and adulthood relationships. Objectives: The current study aimed to investigate the relationship of ATTACHMENT styles (AS) and emotional intelligence (EI) with MARITAL satisfaction (MS). Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional research, 450 married people (226 male, 224 female) were selected using multistage sampling method in Mashhad, Iran, in 2011. Subjects completed the ATTACHMENT styles questionnaire (ASQ), Bar-On emotional quotient inventory (EQ-i) and Enrich MARITAL satisfaction questionnaire. Results: The results indicated that SECURE ATTACHMENT style has positive significant relationship with MARITAL satisfaction (r = 0. 609, P< 0. 001), also AVOIDANT ATTACHMENT style and ambivalent ATTACHMENT style have negative significant relationship with MARITAL satisfaction (r =-0. 446, r =-0. 564) (P < 0. 001). Also, ATTACHMENT styles can significantly predict MARITAL satisfaction (P < 0. 001). Therefore, emotional intelligence and its components have positive significant relationship with MARITAL SATISFACTION; thus, emotional intelligence and intrapersonal, adaptability and general mood components can significantly predict MARITAL satisfaction (P < 0. 001). But, interpersonal and stress management components cannot significantly predict MARITAL satisfaction (P > 0. 05). Conclusions: According to the obtained results, ATTACHMENT styles and emotional intelligence are the key factors in MARITAL satisfaction that decrease MARITAL disagreement and increase the positive interactions of the couples.
